I just bought a data cable yesterday to be able to synd it with Outlook and to manage my contact easier. I use WinXP and I can't even get the installation of XTNDConnect to start. It gives me an error message saying something like the file is corrupted. I've downloaded it several times and even different packages but it just won't install. The only package i was successful with was "Package_5_for_Ericsson_PFW_version_R2A04" but it only contains the Mobile Phone Monitor. I still use R1B. I've also tried Phone Backup with MPM but it can't seem to find my phone. Is the cable bad and why won't XTNDConnect even install?? Please help!

It works fine for me, I'm using Windows XP Pro and Outlook 2002.
I had to use package 1 since the SMS capability in package 4 caused mailing problems in Outlook.

Yes ! I have posted many times though. I use winXP professional and the syncronization package for T68. Works good, although I believe that it is not 100% compatible with XP. Anyway, I have no problems syncronizing my phone with outlook. I don't have either installation problems. Something is going wrong with your Hardware or Software. Sorry I cannot help you.

@Perran,

If you said that Mobile Phone Monitor was not able to detect the phone, go to the Windows Control Panel -> Phone Monitor Options. Click the COM ports tab and make sure that the COM port where the cable is connected is enabled. Another thing is, are you using original DRS-10/DRS-11 cable? Copycat cables have known problems. I am using Windows XP on my notebook, Windows 98 SE on my desktop and I don't have any problem.

Thanks for all your help. I guess by reading all your tips that it is probably my "copy cat" cable that is the problem. Returning it right away to get a real one from Ericsson instead...
Thanks again for all your help!

Pretty strange. I was unable to get my hand on a new data cable yesterday but I did run a virus scan, though without finding any. I then tried to install the Package 4 again but the same error message appeared. I have checked for previous installations. I'm confused...

I also am having trouble getting my computer to communicate with my T68 using the data cable. I am running Windows 98 and have an Ericsson OEM DRS-11 data cable. My T68 is running R1B firmware. Neither Mobile Phone Manager or MyPictures is able to find the phone when I connect it using the cable. I have tried modifying the COM port settings on my control panel, and I enabled both COM ports in Mobile Phone Manager. When I click on "Troubleshooting" in Mobile Phone Manager nothing happens. Any ideas?

I'm also having trouble with my data cable (Ericsson DRS-11 original) ... it seems that I can't connect any of the software using PHONE MONITOR. MobileAgent which doesn't utilize the PHONE MONITOR software works perfectly but the other software like phonebackup, sendfile, imageeditor doesn't work with me. I click on the Troubleshooting button but nothing happens. What's the problem with my connection? anyone please help me!

I had the same problems (with WinME) and found that it was my AntiVirus monitor causing problems with Mobile Phone Monitor.

Whenever I want to use phone stuff, I turn off the AV checker and it all works fine.
