Hi!

My k750i just died a few days ago so I got this "dead" k800 to replace it. Well, I quickly brought it back to life by flashing the EROM and now it actually turns on, but I've got another problem.. It's locked to be used on some certain sim cards, didn't even think of this possibility when I bought it.

Now, since I'm always kind of broke, don't have a credit card etc. etc. I was wondering whether someone knows if it is already possible to get the phone unlocked for free? I'm kind of desperate here since it's not fun to be out of reach like this.

And sorry, there must be a thousand threads about this already, but I just have to try my luck and see if someone can help me. Feel free to link me to some good solutions too.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I just figured out the phone is actually a k800i, not a k800.. If that makes any difference.

Hmm this one seems to be CID 49... Well since it was mentioned on the tut, I'll try it out.

Thanks a lot man, I sure hope this works.

edit: There is this one thing I'm really struggling to find out:
I found the correct firmware for my phone, R1JG001, but they're for RED52... Now since my phone is RED49, what am I going to do?
Should I just find RED49 ones (couldn't find any) or do I need to turn the phone into a "52"? Or should I just follow the tutorial and hope everything goes ok?

One more thing.. If the way to go is to update the phone to the 52 thing, how do I do it?

edit #2: The firmware currently in the phone is in Finnish, will I lose that if I update everything? It's not like I couldn't live with English menus, but still wondering... Or is there a way to just skip all the major firm changes and just unlock the thing? :S

Okay guys, I got the phone working now...

Had to update from the 49 to 52 and after that it went exactly like in the tut..

Even the Finnish lang was kept and I found some photos of some people the previous owner photographed... And some drunk videos.
