maybe word 'killed' is too much because cellphones are not better than some of the mentioned gadgets but it's still good example of this what cellphone want to be or what we (users) want to have in it... all in one. quite impressive if we look couple of years back
one thing missed on the list - popularity of mobile TV is growing up

I no longer use a separate watch, calculator or alarm clock. I have no landline. I rarely use an mp3 player and when I listen to my car stereo or home stereo it's 50% of the time through my phone and A2DP.
I'm a photographer, so I use a DSLR and Compact alot, but for 50% of snapshooting I use my phone. I have a games console and pretty decent computer - but find I usually play java games! (though I do want to get a DS lite with card reader for free games).
Internet: about 1% on the phone.
PDA: I use my phone, but also have a second WinMo phone for times when I want to write lot's of stuff when out and about. One day I will get just one phone and it will be a WinMo (maybe X1). Then I will use more internet on my phone.

yer i have a great pc and laptop, but use the wifi for my phone, got my podcasts, email, mp3, pictures, calls, text on one device i used to buy gadgets all the time, although i still dont play games on my phone, got my books on here to, i think there are becoming more and more versatile its great, one device for everything that fits in ur pocket who is gonna say no really!!!! |

i do love a nice watch. but as i work i tend to break the bands & loose watches without knowing. no need for watches.
i have calculator on shortcut on my phone. a desktop calc is good in the office but on the floor i just carry my phone.
i wouldn't say a phone is good enough to replace ipod, not yet. |

I used to have a desktop at home and a laptop. Both have been replaced by my phone (currently Nokia E90). I only use a PC at the office now. I play most of my music on my phone, have all my calendar and to-do items on my phone, and keep my notes. Other things my phone has "killed" include: calculator, wrist watch (I had to get one because of 'status' though, not for time-keeping), and camera.

In the late 90's, I mostly rely on my pager for my communication needs. But now the beeper has become obsolete because of the cellphone. |

I tried to do that by purchasing an iPhone but it failed miserably.
The iPhone is now going to my wife and I am using my V640i until I can get my hands on a G705 or W705.
