i bought my c905 just over a week ago and last nite i noticed that the screen went all fuzzy as though it had crashed or sumfing, so i turned it off and bk on which tuk a lot longer than usual and it seemed ok, but later on i tried to see the time (bypressing the volume/zoom button on the side) and the screen jus stayed black so i slid it open and same problem again looks like its crashing, so i slid it shut and opened it again and it was fine, it keeps coming and going its very strange even when i slide the lens cover open the screen stays black,
anyone had this problem or a similar problem with theirs ???

thanks

try updating the firmware or debranding it if it's branded

yeah its just happened to me. i was texting last night and suddenly it went all fuzzy and then black and its ok when i slide it up sometimes but when i slide it down it goes black again.

ive had it since wednesday night. its not even 6 days old yet and its conked out on me.

not impressed in the slightest. im taking it back in about 20 mins to get it sorted.

seems like there might be a fault with the electronics or somthing.. a loose connection maybe.

I've just had the exact same thing happen to my 3 weeks old C905... did you guys get your phones fixed / replaced easily? It seems that this could well be a systematic fault.

Hi!

I have had the same problem.
The screen just randomly turned off so i started it back up. Then whenever i was sliding it back down the screen would go all weird. Funny colours and all pixelated. Then when I slid it back up it was fine.

After about 3 hours of this happening it went black again an now everytime i turn it on it jsut shows coloured pixelated white noise. Pretty annoying. I shall take it back tomora.

The worst part about it is that i have already sent it back once for repairs because the ear speaker broke. The only way i could talk to people was to have it on loud speaker!

The infamous flex cable issue. It causes everything from dead earpieces, dead screens, and worst of all it's caused by the slider mechanism.

Same happened to mine, I thought it was the firmware at first but flashing didn't solve it, after a day the screen went black completely. Mine's three months old, it's at the repair center for the second time right now (first time they sent it back without actually doing anything), but if you're is only 6 days old, take it back for a replacement.

Dam slider mechanism.. I should have gone with just a plain phone which I always have had.. No Flip and No slide. I have had my nokia 6233 for nearly 4 years now. Its the most trusty back up phone ever.

So if the problem is the flex cable.. does that mean my phone will keep stuffing up like this? untill i get a new one...?

Its a great phone.. but my one is so unreliable that im thinking on getting a different one.

I have developed the same problem within the last week and under the advice of Phones4U (where I bought it), sent it back to SE to be repaired as SE's repair turnaround is quicker than P4U.

Had a letter back from SE yesterday telling me that the fault is unrepairable and it's my fault. Rang them instantly and again they're telling me that the fault is unrepairable due to unauthorised engineering thus voiding the warranty.

They're basically telling me that something has been 'cut' within the electronics.

I disagreed due to the fact the phone still worked with the exception of the faulty screen and I have had a case created and to expect a call in the next 3-5 working days although I'm told the response will be the same.

Anyone else had this and does anyone know where I stand legally?

That's bullsh*t. The "cut" is caused by a fault in the slider movement, thus meaning that it's a faulty production issue. If you're looking for a quick solution then you should probably buy the spare flex cables, download some repair movies and DIY.
