I have been using my P1 for almost a year now, the longest I've owned any phone, and I love all the different features. But there are some things about the software really bug me. One of them is that the email is slow to download and even slower to pull up each individual email and view it. Does anybody know any fixes for this?

The other thing that is really annoying is the calendar alarm problem which other people have noticed, and proposed fixes for. I'm still trying those--still getting the annoying nonstop alarms, even though I'm experimenting with Themes Creator etc.

Phone takes great pictures. Check out this one.

What e-mail provider are you using? If you have a GMail account, try the GMail app. I've noticed that it loads e-mails a lot quicker than the default messaging app. If you're talking about Blackberry though, there's nothing you can do. BB Client is a lot slower than the native messaging app on Blackberry-branded devices. For other e-mail providers, try using webmail via Opera Mobile 9.5.

Nice picture btw. Somewhere along the PCH, I assume? Be sure to check out the photography contest for this month and submit your entry.

The original email downloader software for P1 is too bad,I stop use it.
Now I install 'SYSTEM SEVEN',it is very powerful, and it's also freeware, just goggling, easy to find it.
For bugs in alarm system, just try to install The Alarmist for UIQ3,you can customise all of your alarm behaviour.

Doesn't SEVEN charge for their software? I actually use the Activesync that the phone came with. Better than BB or anything because it provides push email without the need for a 3rd party. BB for TMobile, for example is a 3rd party since it pulls the email from your email account (if it's not the BB provided email address) then it pushes to your phone. With activesync my phone syncs automatically with my emails, even contacts

It's the data provider, not the e-mail system.7 just does the same thing, it's not faster...
