That video might be Kurara's, but I don't worry about the quality. This phone isn't even announced, so it's in alpha stage. The quality will be improved, there is no other way.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

Sorry to say this, but I agree with Eldar.
However, he is being kind of an arse by reviewing a yet unnanounced phone (and revealing other tidbits), thus ensuring that SE's competitors know more about their strategy than they should.

I agree with Eldar in that Kurara has to be at a good price to guarantee success. Toe to toe with the Nokia XM phones, it should win because the interface is better. If they get the marketing right, this will be massive regardless of its shortcomings. I suspect that it will be priced a bit higher because of the 'HD recording' but it would be wise to keep it as low as possible.

2 new Androids (one qwerty), 1 new Symbian qwerty. More Xperias, hopefully at the February announcement.

Are you omitting my question?

The info is great..
But does "More Xperias" mean alsoWMobile?

I'd be happy to know....
I want future WM on SE!

All the people are so much into Android lately
while I'm not at all.

Not I want to criticize Eldar review but I wonder he factor in stuff like

drop on DRAM price/ ARM processor Price. etc.
also the price on LCD/ camera module.

those stuff by the time Kurara out will not be same as what Samsung offering.

I will rather wait and see whether SE is really commited to a change which include affordability with good quality

I'm just happy to see that is starting to get rid of their proprietary port and replacing it with 3.5mm and microUSB ports. FINALLY!!

Although Eldar has a bit of insight on products, a little the same or less on mass marketing or marketing segmentation; as apposed to his better knowledge of marketing direction of platforms & software by the industry & where its going. I just feel that he's not up to speed about dropping ARM as a processor. I don't think he's aware of the SMP capabilities of ARM Cortex A9 and better power efficiency's for any mobile OS going forward and better put against Snapdragon. I think he's still sold on higher mhz = better performance; unfortunately like the massive consumers out there.

We shall see, we SHALL see.

Why the hell is that Eldar's previews of SE phones revolve around talking about the company for 80% of the time and 20% on the model?
He doesn't have this problem writing about the models from others, does he?

I'll retract that Eldar is right that cannot afford so much investment in 4 platforms. However he's wrong that sales of Satio should equal dropping the platform entirely. Dropping Symbian entirely alienates a considerable amount of smartphone users still using P1i, P990i or the odd man out using G900/G700 units. Many UK users love Symbian because it matches the power of WM without its horrible UI or complexity. Eldar thinks, no commands that Since Nokia is dropping it to the mass market then doesn't have a chance.

News Flash Eldar! Nokia has been using Symbian IN the mass market for just over 10YRS! IT's called S60 and it's been used in the following devices:
7650
3650/3660
6600/6620
6680/6682
73xx (I forget the fashion model design)
6260-Flip.
N-Gage/N-Gage QD
N-Series: N70, N72, N90, N73, N92, N93/N93i/Golf Ed, N80, N81/N81-8GB, N92, N95, N85, N86, N97/N97-Mini,
E-Series: E50, 51, E60, E61, E90, E52, E71, E63, E66, E72, and about 2 others.
Does this NOT sound like Nokia's Symbian for the mass market play Eldar?! Sh*T you reviewed over half of them already!

Sorry There is just something about the quality & fit in finish in the UI of 's previous Symbian products (Satio an exception & a consumer disappointment) that I think they'll continue to do well with with Symbian^1 or Symbian^2 onward.

For just 1 quarter if drops Symbian going forward it'll look good to their share holders ... and to the bottom line (1 and the same really). BUT it means that a sizeable chunk of their work-force (already experienced in C++ programing; not just carbide) will be unemployed and = severance packages. Now think about this for a bit. This means fewer experienced coders to work on WM platform as well ... C++ coding can still be used well in WM and the future being C# or J# or .NET; many of M$ tools can work well with their C++ coding regimen.

Another way to look at it, quite simply is, CAN afford to place their bets on Android? CAN go up for Android units shipped per quarter, at a price point equal to (in each segment) the MAIN competition, and still pull in hefty profits against a former OEM like HTC, and other OEM entrants willing and quickly able to make Android OEM devices in HUGE volumes for providers for rebranding?! Only time will tell - AND if the answer is YES, then this can be done with Symbian as well. Putting all your eggs into 1 basket in ANY business is NEVER a good idea, HTC isn't doing it; and only Dell or Apple are because their just starting out and Apple has a unique and thriving ecosystem that supports their 1 egg view. I doubt Dell can do well at all. Oh and lets not forget that Motorola has a LOT of experience using Linux kernels in mobile smartphones - marketed as feature phones for almost 5yrs+ now [using LiMo Foundation's brand of Linux, essentially the same kernel used in Android, no?!]

It's pricing and marketing that is hurting in, but it seems that their changing their game and very FAST.

Guys,

looking at the tone and the selection of reviewed devices,
I can bet Eldar is payed to sh..t over

I have no doubt about it,
especially when he jacks off about any other product.
I mean it's so obvious.

AND the device is not EVEN announced just LEAKED!
But there's no article on X10....

He just works to scr..w the brand.
A who..re.
