WinMo7 is going to have multi touch capability therefore, shouldn't X2 and others be capable if they are able to make the upgrade from WinMo6.5? HTC are doing multi touch as well so maybe X2 will also be capable? I like the idea of Rachael being multi touch but WinMo will be better. I appreciate that a lot of work has gone into making Android and Symbian unique like Satio for example but, past the home screen everything is too similar. I'm a fan of powerful systems and if anyone has used the Nokia N97, they will know that Symbian supports few file formats as an example.
Anyways, its good that Santa is around. Any ideas about the various qwerty devices that are supposed to release this year. If they think two is a lot, they're probably delighted with their profits as well. Personally, I'm loving the new HTC stuff, will only have the X2 on WinMo or do we get a choice i.e. Omnia II and Omnia Pro? Rachael is the only Android so I would guess its a phone a year for both platforms. I know Eldar says that the Aino touch screen is limited but I would guess that he is wrong. Is Aino going to be full touch or what? |

I wonder if SE is working on a Blackberry/Nokia E71 like device? My bro just got a BB 8900 and I enjoy the form factor very much. The 3.2 Autofocus camera is also pretty good.

The last few pages of this thread are littered with my 'nagging' for this kind of phone, a revamped P1 with updated specs. A few people, like myself, would love such a phone!
Not only that, it would give SE a competitor against the likes of the E71/E65 and Blackberry. A lot of people want a compact hpone with no moving parts (slide out QWERTY keyboard).
If only SE could bring this out.

That is something I would also like to see, razec.
I remember seeing a very interesting P series, flip phone design late 2007 that was patented by SE.
I had hoped that they would bring that out but it looks unlikely now.

Yes, I remember that. I found the patent on japanese blogs. It was a sort of reverse flip - the keypad flipped down, under and onto the back of the phone, exposing a full touch screen. Good concept but also just a patent.

Vertical Qwerty Touchscreen request #3748595... ! I just can't believe that SE still doesn't have a proper P990/P1/P5 type of phone. Given the number of sets I still see on the streets (P1's mostly), I would guess it is/was a big seller, and there is not ONE new phone on the market today that has it all.

As far as i know Multi-Touch is patented by Apple
Eh, no.
Multi touch was around way before apple could put the letters P, H, O, N and E together with an i in front of it. All they managed to patent was their gestures and even those could be thrown out of the window because other companies that supposedly developed similar ideas before Apple are currently suing them.
Apple doesn't innovate. They just say it enough times so that people start to believe them.
So yeah, there's every chance that Rachael may have multi touch. Personally, I couldn't care less. A PSP works fine for my gaming needs and double tap to zoom works swell in web browsers.
Here here, well put, Apple IS the story of the kings clothes all over again!
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Yes, that's the one goldenface!
I thought that was a future P series of the old one excluding the P1. I really loved that concept.

The P1 design must be the unluckiest design that SE has ever come up with- from the customers' point of view.
This is/was undoubtedly the best selling P series that they now seem to have canned. How ironic?
Silly of them!
