I'm finding it hard to believe it actually has a 800 x 480 screen if it's OLED. Even the Sony Ericsson S001 for KDDI didn't have a 800x480 screen... at least not really... complicated story. |

Yes, but if I am correct, the X1's resolution is somewhere around there isn't it? I doubt they'd downgrade the resolution on a successor. And OLED is an obvious next step in screen technology.

But you have to see that the X1 uses a TFT LCD screen... not OLED. There are no mobile OLED phones with a resolution greater than nHD. There's just no way you can produce a screen like that and keep your phone affordable. I'm not surprised it has a WVGA screen resolution, I'm just surprised it has that resolution + OLED screen. Even if that's true, assuming, it probably only has "visual WVGA," which is similar to Sony Ericsson's S001 which has "visual FWVGA." Of course, you can attach OLED and WVGA together and people will go WOW, it's just a play on words.
OLED has never amazed me. I mean, it's nice on Television sets, but that's not affordable is it? I know it has obvious benefits such as better "blacks", define colours, etc. but many TFT LCD screens can do all that. In fact, my P906i has a much better screen than the Omina. I would be somewhat surprised if this next general Xperia, assuming the specifications above are true, would go with OLED screen instead of their traditional TFT LCDs, which has proved better than most of the OLED screens today. |

Yeah true. And I think Angello put a "?" next to OLED, so perhaps that's just wishful thinking on the original poster's part.

The only one that didn't have something next to it was the XPERIA Panels
Is it coming with Remote Play? I certainly hope so (although it would be hacked and replicated on every other Wndows Mobile phone in history once it does come out) |

Hope its a 3.2" if it were 3.5" the device would be huge.... actually already satisfied with 3" on my X1. Also not to sure about the control designs but will wait until I see more pics. Anyway specs sounds promising. If they get it released within a reasonable timeline think they could seriously create some havoc on the market! Really seems like SE are getting their act together just wish all there recent designs wouldn't remind me of a mix between nokia and samsung.... |

Actually such a phone i it were to have such a large screen it would benefit. That would mean bigger space for keys and typing would be easier. |

X2 still sounds pretty badass. Like X-Men or eXtreme.
I think it looks great. The shots we've seen haven't been all that flattering though. I think once we've seen the press shots and some high resolution hands-on videos, we'll all be in awe as we were with the X1.
In xperia series they can name their phones (e.g. x1,x2) Satio couldn't be in a series. is it a "P" or maybe a "G"?? so they called it satio. same Aino, not a cybershot nor a walkman, but yari could have easily be a "F" phone like F800 or something. Thats how I get it.
and Vulcan sounds like an X-men character. LOL
