Hi,
I traded a Blackberry 8800 on here recently as i got an iphone a couple of days later and my wife prefered her N95 i decided to sell it on ebay. After a day or two of being sold i got the message below from the new owner.
"Hi there, received item this morning. Unfortunately, i am having problems. I am trying to set up my email account, but unfortunately i can't do this with your account being deleted. This can only be done by phoning blackberry and asking them to delete your account assigned to the phone pin, so that i can then register my email account to the pin. I am not a wizz with these things but have spoken to O2. Only you can do this. Please advise when this has been done. so i can register myself. Also please can you advise me on which sim company you were using this device with. Thanks"
I have contacted the person who i traded it with who didn't. use email so wouldn't know the pin and the original owner whose response i am waiting for.
As someone who knows nothing about a Blackberry are they correct or am i being messed around by the new owner
thanks

They are right!
The person that owned the phone before you that used it for email must ring their service provider and have their blackberry account deleted... Or register another blackberry to their account.
Good luck,

The person who now owns the 8800 will have the PIN as it is device specific and can be found under the battery, under Options>Status or by typing mypin in a message field
But AFAIK and like Burgaz says it is down the person who used the BB for emails last to get it unlatched!

And actually contacting RIM if you no response can also be done. But needs authorisation from them (the original owner) too...
