Hey, all you lucky owners of a P800!
Did anybody really charge his phone 4 hours before first usage?
I'll get mine tonight , and I don't think I'll sit beside that gadget for 4 hours, but I'll plug it into the dockingstation and play with it aso, and then I'll leave it alone over night.
Anything that could happen?
Worst case is that I'll have to buy a new battery after half a year instead of seven months, or what?

Started using my T68i at once until the battery was empty, then put the charger in and continued using it.

Still works perfectly after over 4 months now.

People always talk about charging new phones, cameras etc for 4 or 16 hrs or something the first time. Is that good for anything? When it's full, it's full, isn't it? After the battery charging indicator stops it's just maintenance charging, right? (or the phone just uses power from the charger instead of the battery?)

Hi there...

I cut the wire of some old electrical thing I had, and soldered the wires to the contacts of my Nokia 7110's battery. I then plugged it in, and turned the socket on.

I've had this connected now for about 2 hours, and there is this little wheezing noise, and the battery casing looks quite soft now...

Should I leave this on for 16 hours, or will 4 hours be ok?

From the P800 manual, Page 172:
"we recommend that you charge your battery for 4 hours before you use your mobile phone for the first time."

The rest, as they say, is up to you.

Mine lasted only for 20 hours. 10 times of phone calls, maybe about 50 MMS text (MMS is still free in my place so why should I use SMS, heheehhe), Writing and Reading Documents for appox. 2 hours (total cumulative)
