I'm guessing you have a vodafone C905? there are a few topics here dicussing that vodafone seem to have blocked wifi on the C905 in favour of getting data through their network
if so, have a read through some of these search results

From my experience sometimes Opera Mini can fail to recognize Wi-Fi connection, but I have no solution for this other than rebooting Opera Mini itself and hope that the connection will be recognized.
I also experienced this years back with a 9300i Communicator (the version with Wi-Fi). |

What i used to do is to go to an iplookup website where they tell you where your ip is from and which ISP own the IP you are using, eg http://www.iplocation.net/
So if you are connected to wifi at home, then you should get the name of your broadband provider while if you see three or hutchison, you are using the 3 network and will be charged...
I dont do this anymore because I am on unlimited data plan, but thats how i used to make sure I am not on the wrong network. That being said, I have used opera mini with my c905 and found no problem so far... |

dumbdumb that's a good suggestion except as opera mini caches all web traffic you end up with the name of an isp in Norway with that site. So the question remains how can we make sure opera mini is using wifi on the c905? |

This is odd.
On T-Mobile, they say that hotspot and Wifi access comes out of your Web'n'walk allowance, meaning I should be able to use 10 Gb per month for free.
I suppose that this only applies to T-Mobile hotspots, if you use a hotspot from another company, they probably charge you for it. |

Oh right... sorry i missed such an obvious thing... in that case maybe you have look sit next to your router and make sure the lights are blinking when you are using Opera Mini |
