Signing java apps. is it possible? |

Hi. I just wanted to know whether it is possible to sign an unsigned java application or not. I am frequently using an application called 'Weather' but there is no signed version available so my phone always prompts me to connect to Internet. Once I tried to copy the signature from a jad file and put it into another jad but it didn't work.
Is that possible?

I have a w910 so I'm not allowed to patch until xs++ supports it. I will search for the trick and keep posted. thanks anyways. |

There are 2 options, or you can use the patch mentioned, or you can download java wireless toolkit and use it's utillities to sighn the app. with the needed certificate. You can also use it as a java emulator to run apps on your computer. O and it's only for windows.
Here is the link for Java Wireless Toolkit: http://java.sun.com/products/sjwtoolkit/download.html
Hope I was helpful!!! |

I used it to sign the jad files, but the apps would not install on the phone. I think because I don't have the certificate installed on my phone. JWT does not provide the ability to generate the certificate (.cer) file ???

No, you are going to have to find that certificate somewhere else and put it on your phone. All that JWT can to is to create .ks files (keystroke). And remember that both jad an jar files have to be in the same folder on your phone to install, not just the jad.
Oh wait here is the certificate you need (I don't know how you are gonna get it on your phone though)

OH and sorry about the fingerprint I left out but that's like a Serial key and I'm not gonna give away mine in the net. Maybe there is one somewhere else on the net./
