Why can’t I browse free on d desktop? |

Hi all,
I appreciate ur good work on dis forum. It has really impacted lives.
However, pls I want to know what other thing(s) or configuration I need to do to browse on my desktop using my phone (nokia 3500c) as a modem.
I browse freely on my phone both using d phone’s native browser and other web browsers, but when I try to hook it up to my desktop via bluetooth (or USB cable), d PC Suite recognizes d connectivity & then internet ready BUT as I attempt to open any website using d native Internet Explorer browser, d screen displays “cannot found server’’ & ‘the page cannot be displayed’’ EVEN while browsing continues on my phone.
I think d technology behind Bluetooth/IR/USB connectivity is to automatically make communication btw devices, esp using ware like PC Suite? Do I need any other configuration to make d desktop browse internet using d phone?

i am experiencing the same problem. i used to browse the internet on my PC using my SE P1i as modem. but now, i could only make a connection but browsing seems to be blocked. I am from the phils with globe telecoms as service provider.
please help.

I'm able to browse the Internet for free on my Desktop when using my phone as a modem. I'm using Opera 9.62. I was able to configure it to work for free. IE and Mozilla Firefox do not work.

I can post it here but i'm not sure if it's gonna work on your computer because it depends on your network provider. But don't worry i'll teach you. Install opera 9.62 first on your computer and then i'll pm you the settings. Thank you.

Where are you from and who is your network provider? I'm not sure if it is going to work on your computer. But anyway, I'll PM you the settings. It's worth giving a try. I'll send it you if I'm not busy anymore. Thanks.

i am from philippines. i use smart and globe alternately in connecting to the internet. would appreciate receiving the settings soon.

Thanks. I have also installed Opera 9.6 in my system: although I still have IE6 in there. My network provider are MTN nigeria and Zain: all in Nigeria.
Pls let's have d settings.
