Audiobooks for SE (.m4b) |

Hi for all. I've discovered audiobooks for myself today and 've been trying to upload them to my W980. As soon as I am on Mac, I am using iTuneMyWalkman in addition to Itunes to transfer mp3s to the phone. THe problem with audiobook (.m4b extension) is that that they are not going to "media/audiobooks" on the phone, I could find them with all other .mp3 files in Media/Songs on my phone. Is there any chance to upload audiobook on SE W980 from MAC to find it in Media/Audiobooks afterward? Have someone experienced the same problem?
Thanks for the ideas in advance!

I have never tried audiobooks on my W910 so I'm not sure how it really works.
However I'm sure that you should put the m4b into the folder Podcasts (File Manager > Music > Podcasts)

Thanks, i'll try it today. THe imost interesting thing is that when I open File Manager, i see this file in 'Audiobooks' folder, but when i do it through the Walkman, it is still with other music, not in 'audiobooks' category |

Hi there.
I have managed to get the audio book-thing working by using the software Easy CD-DA Creator and converting my mp3-files to M4B-format. I put all my books into the /music/audiobook folder, though that shouldn't matter as the m4b-extension automatically tells the phone it's an audiobook and not music. Before I found ECD-DAC I had tried to use audiobooks from iTunes, but the phone does not support the underlying AAC-codec that is specific to Apple's m4a- and m4b-files. ECD-DAC is converting the files into AAC+-based m4b which is supported by your phone.
You can get more info about the program at http://www.poikosoft.com/
By the way, I'm in no way affiliated with the creators of the aforementioned program, I just found it to be the only working solution

I buy audio books from iTunes and then strip these of DRM with Requiem (highly recommended btw - lightning fast DRM strippage). Then I copy these through Windows Explorer to the \Music folder on the Memory Stick in my G700 and change the file extension of the files from .m4a to .m4b (as Requiem adds the .m4a to the de-DRMed files) so I end up with this:
\Music\Kurt Vonnegut\Mother Night (Unabridged)\01 Mother Night (Unabridged).m4b
These are recognized as proper audio books by the G700's Media application (correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I can tell this is the full-fledged WALKMAN 3.0 player).

I think you can add audio books via Sony Media Manager, but I'm not certain if this software willl work on Mac ...
