Hi,
Just got a HPM 70 for my P1i, and when i make a call, I can hear surrounding sounds around me thru the headphones
It goes away when i close the small opening (the microphone?) above the silver button on the handsfree
doesnt happen when am receiving calls though
is this normal with the HPM70?

Mine is HPM 65,and same goes with yours.
Maybe that because the mic is very sensitive,that makes you can keep talking during call without having to put the mic near to your mouth.

try to clean your connector pin first,
it looks like the handset is still active which it shouldn't
cause when you attach your handsfree then
your handsfree mic is the only one were should be active.
