The piece which attaches it to the phone does not have a headphone logo on it. I also cannot see the yellow sticker. The bass is also lacking...

However, when I connect it to the phone a message pops up and says HPM-82. The remote control also works as intended.

I bought it open-box, but it was in the original packaging, according to this site:

So what do you guys think?

This is enough to tell that you've got the fake one Mate...

The bass is usually lacking unless you choose the proper earbud for your ears.

there are 3 sizes, experiment around until you find one that reduces external sounds to minimum and hence gives u more bass

If the bass still sucks, it might be a fake, try comparing it with another original piece if u can

THANKS GUYS. They did turn out to be fakes, and I have returned them for a full refund.
The music was tinny. The bass was non-existent. The radio did not recieve any stations. And there was a constant ticking sound whenever I made calls.

I went to another shop and bought another set. I made sure the logo on the ear-piece was positioned on the left before buying, and it was brand new. I didn't notice any differences in the looks other than that the pads were made of rubber. In the fakes they felt like paper and they did not return to their original shape when distended.

They do not have any of the issues I stated earlier, except that the bass is still lacking in comparison to my HPM-62, and the volume is considerably lower. (Im using pedrops V3 beta 3 drc on for HPM-82, and beta 8 drc off for HPM-62).

I'm also having another issue. I accidentaly tore off the membrane on the right earbud, and am consequently no longer getting any bass on this side. It is really annoying and I'm not sure if I can do anything about it. Any ideas before I throw this otherwise-perfectly-good pair of earbuds?

With regards from Egypt.

I bought a HPM-82 for more than a year ago, and I must say sound quality and volume are very disappointing, even compared to standard SE headphones. It's hard to fit the buds in your ears right, and they are irritating. So if you ask me, get rid of the earbuds and attach your own favorite headset.

I never got along with these earbuds and never got any bass out of them whatsoever. The only way they would sound anything like good was when I kept holding them pressed into my ears with my fingers.

I can highly recommend trying the HPM-85 if you want to go with a real headset from SE.
