Nokia falls from UK number one spot
Samsungs aggressive pricing in the prepay market is taking sales away from Nokia
Nokia is slipping further back in the UK after losing its position as the manufacturer with the biggest market share.
Senior industry sources claimed that Nokia was a percentage point behind Samsungs 30% share of the market.
It appears that Samsungs aggressive pricing in the prepay market is taking sales away from Nokias prepay heartland.

I pointed out on two different occasions that Samsung is the only manufacturer at this stage that can take a chunk out Nokia's market share.
I said that Q3 next year Nokia's worldwide market share will be different to what it is now because of mainly Samsung. This is a start of that battle.

Also i have found Samsung phones to be far more reliable and have less software problems unlike Nokia. Your everyday consumer cannot deal with stuff like that all the time. And Samsung have just got better and better. |

Kudos to Samsung...
P.S-I Wonder how much longer the 8mp phone from Nokia is going to take, that should stir up some market figures...

Samsung OS sucks so I'll never understand why people buy them. Unless like recent phones they use someone elses OS.

Great stuff SAMSUNG, they must enjoy it while they can, let's see what happens when the 5800xm and Nseries Touch are out.

yes, I must admit the 5800 looks pretty smick, though it's still s60. I always find s60 too disorganised and not as efficient in it's UI as A200 and not as flexible as WM. For smartphones I still prefer WM. I don't expect the touchscreen s60 to really change much other than add a touchscreen to an already bland UI.
But I'm keen to have a look at it though.

Well their smartphone uses the same OS as Nokia and other WM devices, with some eye candy from samsung.
Their non-OS phones have come a very long way. From the incredibly terrible OS from the D900 days, their new U900 uses a much much better and very sleek UI. From offering no themes, they now offer you to make your very own using just your phone!

Samsung have lately become very innovative in their approach to UI's.
Eventheir WM and s60 offerings have many improvements over the vanilla OS underneath.
I was very impressed with the Samsung flavour of WM on the i780 I bought a little while ago. Alsao they are trying hard in the area of ergonomics, for example one of the first devices to use an optical joystick.
Also for the price their devices are very good quality.

In terms of durability, user friendly and reliablity nokia products have been on the top. Now SAMSUNG has improved its qualities and technology as well.

Most of the average people, particularly girls love the Samsung phone designs. I have only ever liked designs myself, I have had a few Nokias and a Samsung C100, which was a sweet candy bar phone, but overall for me have the most attractive phones based on looks, right now T700 is my favorite candybar, G705 is my favorite slide, and Z770 is my favorite flip phone, but I always prefer candybars which excel in. |

Samsungs handsets appeal more to the younger generation cos of the designs, Nokia don't do anything colourful, Slim that flips..
kids wants cute phones not excutive ones
saying that ive seen alot of kids with my phone,
never see any with a iPhone though
Ps, by kids im talking about 16 to 17 year old students
