O2 Introduce's Priority Club |

Looks like the O2 Select membership has come to an end. Just had an email about the O2 Priority club which is replacing it. There are 3 tiers apparently. Silver, Gold, Platinum

Also looks like O2 are going to be forcing existing 12 contract holders to go on either simplicity or 18/24 month contracts as of 2009 as well.
I've had my 12 month contract before O2 even came to the UK and want to keep it. Will deffo be leaving them if I'm forced to change to an 18 month one.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose  |

Gotta love the networks don't you, they made the market what it is today and now that they've realised they over spent of 3g and handset subsidies (iPhone etc...) its Joe Bloggs that has to put up with these enforced changes.
I can understand why the networks are doing what they do and because i work in the industry i have to live with these changes to make any money.
Saying that mind you. I recently came off a 12 month contract at £35 which had a £15 discount applied to account making it £20 a month and went onto a simplicity tariff at £20.
Funny thing is o2 have not removed the discount from my account, so I'm getting 600 min + 1000 txt + unlimited web for £5 a month.
I shall enjoy it while it last, hehehehe

Ummm, can we keep focus people? This is a thread about O2's new priority club, not a moaning-ground for the lack of 12-month contracts.
To put a line under it, noone bought our 12-month contracts because they were such poor value for money and it made no sense to buy them, and it seems the only one who did buy them were people who'd been living here 6 weeks who wanted to go back 'home' again after 12 months, or all you lot who some how managed to wind up here lol.
We rarely EVER sold 12-month when we had it, so it's not that much of a loss.
Anyway, if you look at the Priority Club you'll see that the more you spend with O2, the earlier you can upgrade anyway.

as £30-£35 is a pretty standard contract rate these days, especially for iphoners, it makes sense to make the lowest level start above that otherwise there'd be too many members and therefore no real priority, or privilige, or whatever you want to call it

Looks like the Silver and Gold priority club things are worse if you have an iPhone.

surely this is an entitlement outside of normal marketing bumpf?
I'm sure most of us say "no" to receiving junk mail from most companies but we'd certainly want to know if we could some priority like this.

Hey, they have to get something out of it 
To be honest, the ammount of 'junk' they send out is minimal anyway.
As for the cost, it's called Priority club because of it's exclusivity, hence the minimum £35/month.

If they are trying to force people onto Simplicity, then you would need to be on a high Simplicity contract to qualify. |

I can only presume I'm on a Silver membership then as it's just taken me straight into the silver door when I clicked to see what it was all about - I do spend £50 a month tho (£35 tariff/£7.50 web bolt on/£7.50 broadband).

By the looks of it you have to be on certain tariffs too, starting at O2 600 at £35 a month. I am on O2 200 but spend £35 a month as I have the Blackberry bolt-on. I wonder if I will qualify.
