Hi,

I just got my w350. Everything seems to be fine, but i want to turn off the 3G or GPRS or whatever is the damn G over the signal meter.

I searched through the internet, but i cannot find the proper settings for w350 neither the instructions for the other SEs work for me - Setting -> Connectivity -> GSM/3G Networks => it is just missing.

Thank you for the help iin advance!

Go to:

Setting -> Connectivity -> Preffered Service and select CS only

That should do the trick.

There is no Preferred Service...

In Settings -> Connectivity -> Mobile Networks -> And here have:

New search
select network
search mode
preferred network

... Preferred network does not do the job it only lists the available networks

Any ideas ... the Users Manual does not give an answer too

That "damn G" signifies that you've got GPRS coverage. As far as I'm aware, that cannot be turned off, and there's no reason to do so.

Also, you might want to change the thread title and remove 3G, as there's no such thing in W350. People will probably just start either asking if there is or tell you there's not, so best to just prevent it all by removing it.

the g over the signal rather signifies that the sim is gprs active and that the phone has edge imo. for example w810 has edge and the little back g is over the signal bar unlike other sony ericsson dualband and triband and 3g phones has the blue rectangular. don't know if thats what ya talking
