Hi, this is a little idea I got a while back. Basically each year will be listed and for that year a phones specification to what is a good phone. Like where the technology market is. And you can compare your phone to the list of 2008, lets say and if it does not meet the target it is not a phone for 2008...A bit strange, because also the fact that people use different phones for different things etc. but lets see how this goes.

2004 didnt have walkman player 1.0. It was started with w800i in 2005.
Camera in 2009 should be atleast 3.2 mp with auto focus and photo light.
Mid-high(7-8 series) ones should have 5mp camera, and higher ends(9 series) 8mp camera.
But i guess m asking too much. But if SE would deliver this, then i dont think nothing much can stop them from gaining alot of market share.
Because in ME, ppl usually buy phones based on MP, which is also the second (or first) largest market of nokia.

I would say that 2008 would be with at least 3.2 MP without AF for mid-end phones. Many SE phones have 3.2 MP, for instance the W890, w760, w595, T700, and I could go on  |

I would also like SE to produce highend phones based on SF. WM is awesome with it's powerful 3rd party apps, system tweakability, and great support from different hardware producers. but i like Symbian for it's lighter yet powerful enough platform. Omap3 is powerful enough to run SF devices extremely fast.

That and all phones with designation number of 7 and above should get WLAN. It's a very big thing in Asia where most hangouts have their own WLAN servers. |

Apart of the fact that there are some errors (for example A100 was introduced in 2006 etc...); I think this thread is a bit confusing because you have to mention the class you're talking about. I mean the mid-class is quite "big", 5-6-7 series in SE are mid-class... Between 2008 and 2009 i'd put some more differences...

What was before A100 then? and what kind of differences then?
Thanks for the tips guys I'll add this all in.
by the way, I think AF should be in earlier because most phones have it now, I suppose... and when I was putting walkman I meant like in all SE phones, e.g. K850i, C902 etc. have walkman 3.0 but their just not advertised with it, but it is basically the same. Older versions like K800i had the exact same thing as Walkman 1.0 I think...not sure.
So yeah keep updating this and hopefully soon it should be full.

The SE Platforms are:
DB3150 (known also as A200, first phone Z750 then K850 - 2007), DB2020 (or A100, K800 - 2006), DB2010 (K750 - 2005), DB2000 (V800 - 2005 I think)... Before I don't know... (Probably there was less people interested about it?!?)... The last version is DB3150 Revision 3... But at least for 2009 I expect something like A300 (??)
Fhe screen size I'd say 2009 2.4" - 2008 2.2" - 2007 2.0" etc...
The battery life is something that nowadays is rather worsening, I'd remove it...
Finally the networks... 2005 GPRS 3Band - 2006 EDGE 4Band - 2007 UMTS 4Band - 2008 HSDPA 4Band 2009 Probably the same....
