Hello,
I need help with setting up Bluetooth. I have a Sony Ericsson K770i, this is the first time I have used Bluetooth, and I am not sure on what you do.
I have gone on to the Bluetooth settings page on my phone, but I'm not sure on what to do. I'm sure it isn't complicated.
Thanks for any help |

Hi RSCruz!
Welcome to Esato!!
Please give us some more information....
Are you trying to pair your phone with a bluetooth headset, or with your PC ?
Tell us what you want to do, and what other devices you have, and we can go from there.

I'm not totally sure on what extra information I can give.
My mate said he would send me a video using Bluetooth - how do we go about this? He already has Bluetooth activated on his phone.
I will see about other devices later on. Thanks again. |

Hi,
I don't know the K770i well, but in the menu's you will find an option to set your phone to visible.
Your friend can do a search, using his phone. for bluetooth devices, and it should pick up your phone.
You both should be asked to enter a passcode, I think the code can be 0000 or 1111, 0r whatever but you both must enter the same code.
After that, you should see a message saying 'pairing was successful' and do you want to receive a 'file from your friend'. You can hit 'Y' and then you can see it transferring.
I am sure fellow Esato members might add more to help you !
back to my beer !

You dont have to pair your phones with any code ! This is only when connecting a headset or computer...
When transfer a file between two phones: Reciever have to activate BT and have the device in "visible". The transmitter have to select file and choose send by --> bluetooth. Not more, not less.....

true but i think ALL modern phones ask the owner to accept or decline an incoming file. |

@RSCruz
Don't forget to switch your phone back to Hidden mode. When hidden you can still use BT with devices you've already paired with, but other peolpes doing a search can't find and mess with your phone. |

Or if you're not using Bluetooth, turn it off so it's not wasting your battery!
