I have 2 running. I checked yesterday and one of them was running at 52 degrees and according to the program (speed fan) thats extremely high

mine runs at 55 degrees c without a fan, with fan its around 30

34 Celcius with fan @ 1200rpm.

...........unless you mean 4200rpm

It is indeed the fan speed, the drive is at 7200rpm.

Depends on make, speed, size, age, enclosure


Mine are 4 sata's close together, in cages with 2 fans,

My 320gb's are higher at around 38-42c

160gb is 41c

250gb is 38c (im downloading to it now)

250gb is 33c (idle)


So depends on how much your using it really, idle your looking at around 30-40 mark

In use, upto 55max really.
