my wife and I usually go to the Frankfurt Christmas markets because a) I worked there for a few years and b) they are one of the best I've been too.

We also go to Brussels and Antwerp Christmas market too and sometimes also Tivoli in Copenhagen.

This year we've decided to do something different and are now booked to head to Stockholm for the weekend 12/13/14 December, again because we like Stockholm as I worked there, but I was not there at that time of year.

I've read there are several Christmas markets around such as in Gamla Stan, Stortorget (if I remember correctly, thats where the big cinema complex is, isn't it?). I heard that Drotingsgatan has some festivities as well as Skansen. I believe that Grona land (bit like Luna park in Sydney and Melbourne) also do something special

as I've noticed quite a few Swedes posting, especially in the X1 topics , are there any more tips for that weekend in regards to Christmas festivities? is there Glühwein or something similar to keep us warm?

when I did work there I arrived first week of January and remember lost of restaurants and clubs having little fires outside which were very welcoming... can't wait!

Forgot grönalund at winter. Skansen would be very nice to visit.. Sergetorg, Drottinggatan, and also NK.

http://www.alltomstockholm.se/ Swedish site use google. or http://www.stockholm.se/-/English/

There is lot thing to do when you Visit Stockholm..but winter is not the best period to visit here, dark and cold..

Good luck and have fun

I haven't checked esato regularly for years so you can't blaim me for being late , but totay is Saint Lucy's Day and the celebrations in churches etc can be pretty nice, unfortunately it will probably be too late by the time when you read this, but now you know what to do the next winter!

PS. If you ever come to Sweden again you can PM me if you want, I check my messages alot more often than the forum.
