Nokia Maps - Confused! |

Just wondered whether someone could clear this up for me? I have installed Nokia Maps from the Nokia website onto my E90 now does this cost me to use? Im still trying to work out whether it uses a gps receiver to tell you where you are going? or it costs me by conecting to Vodafone?
Also are there any other Satnav makes which would work with my E90? Garmin, Route 66, TomTom etc etc.
Thanks very much.
James

Thanks for that. Just everytime I start it, it asks me to connect to my Vodafone network.
Any ideas people on other satnav software?
Thanks

My dad has an E90. The GPS receiver works fine with Nokia Maps 2.0. If you don't want to incur extra data charges, head over to Tools - Settings - General - Positioning - Positioning methods and disable the network GPS or assisted GPS (don't remember the exact option).

@SE990,
I ram Tom Tom 6 S60 version on my E90 and it worked really well possibly the best Sat Nav software and views especially when using the 4" screen in landscape view. Sorry never bothered with Nokia Maps but if you want turn by turn voice directions you need to subscribe to the service and pay for it.

Hey se,
YOu will be getting free 3 months trial version of nokia maps for its advanced features, but normal stuff(like google map) will be free.
The reason why it asks you to connect to vodafone network is because of assisted gps, that means it uses the net(wifi cannot be used) to get a lock on the sat, which speeds up the process rather than using just gps.
