Universities in the USA and the UK continue to dominate an annual table ranking the world's top higher education institutions.

Among the top 10 institutions in the Times Higher Education QS list, six are in the USA and four are in the UK.

Wow MIT was no 1.
It has slipped down.
I agree US and UK are the best place to do higher education.
But USA dominates over UK.

yup MIT did slip down .. and agree with you both countries are good for higher education if you can afford thm lol

top universities are all equally matched and are on different rating by a mere point or two ...

My university is #83 overall. Not bad for one that doesn't have a med school and whose MBA school is crap. We're #8 in technology according to this article:

Yussss! My university is 186th! 3rd in my New Zealand which is ok I suppose, but we're only a small country.

But I really want to get into the Top Engineering College.
It will be USA or Germany.

didnt started this thread to make any one feel bad or to make myself on top of everyone .. just posted this to share some info .. so that those who are planning to join top universities (totalgsm for example) can take a look at the list and choose the best affordable one

Doing my UG course in mechanical engineering.
My preference currently is MIT , but I know its going to take a lot of effort for me to get into there.
But Germany is supposed to be the hub for automobile and mechanical engineering .
I am not sure of any university in Germany.

Getting a job in the automobile industry in the US might be a tad difficult, unless you're a PhD grad. Motown (Detroit) has been in a major slump since the past couple of years and many design studios have been outsourced to countries like China, India, Germany etc. I think Bavaria is definitely the place to be for auto engineers.
