Hiiiiiiiiii

Ok, so phones are great (especially ) but what more on phones can be done? I mean camera's will get too good, in that i mean you will need 1000gb memory cards to store it when you simply won't need it. Same goes for video really! Walkman player can be much clearer but will get so good it will be better than our ears lol.

What do you think could do to phones in the future

I will start:
Not much

Let us know what YOU think, I really want to know

Luke

Actually I was always thinking this. I guess it's like new gadgets coming out, that can be put into it. e.g. GPS came along and then mobiles started getting them. What's the latest thing? I don't know maybe that ebooks thing where you can read books on your phone. Whatever is coming out like that will be put into it.

What can SE do? Everything that other manufacturers are doing. Get off their asses and start making high tech devices. Release phones quickly. Stop making half asses phones like the G502

@lukechris: right now we have to convert first then we can see the movie on our mobile. But I’m talking about just buy a DVD, plug the external DVD-ROM to mobile, and start to watch, or can convert directly Audio CD to MP3/AAC on mobile without computer. That will really hit.

should not be that hard. all thats required is an audio/video in port on the phone

SE can strart developing bigger screen - maybe 320x480. Why not. And more phones with 2.6 inches screen. And what about Wi-Fi - it should be in more phones. Autofocus in every phone with 2mp camera and bigger... The video recording size - why not CIF, not 320x240... or better - VGA. All phones from the C-series should have VGA video.

Equip flip (clamshell) phones with a bloody flash! I created a new thread yesterday asking if anyone was aware of a SE flip phone with a camera and flash and it turned out that there weren't any.
Larger screens and higher resolutions in regular feature phones (A200) wouldn't hurt at all. 2.6" screens with say, 320x480 would be a good move. 240*320 is pretty much run-of-the-mill these days and 128x160/176x220 just doesn't cut the mustard. Also, I can't fathom why SE keep producing some low end phones with 65K screens and teeny weeny 1.8" display. For heaven's sake, the production costs for a 262K screen can't be that high over a 65k given that quite a few manufacturers have already started equipping phones with 16M color displays.

Here's my check list for the next batch. of A200 phones:
2.6" display (3" and bigger for the high end sliders and flips)
262k as the minimum color gamut
320x480 or 320x320 resolution displays (240x320 should be relegated to the low and mid range handsets)
Stereo speakers, a la the N95 and NOT single sided like the N96 - at least for the W-series. For the love of God, give the Walkman brand the respect it deserves.
MicroUSB charging
Active standby screen inspired by UIQ3 and S60 FP2.
Built-in FM receiver
*****************3.5mm audio jack****************!!!!!!!
Good camera optics (rather than cramming a 8 or 10MP unit on-board)
.11 g WiFi (not too sure who uses 'b' these days). 'n' would be a mega killer if they can keep the power requirements in check.

Neither video nor audio will ever get "good enough". Phones will always be chasing the quality of "the big boys". (DSLR, Blu-Ray, real stereo systems)--just as the big boys are chasing ever advancing professional standards.

I think phones will get smaller and more feature packed to the point where they can be too small. Then we can go to flexible displays or better yet, holographic displays.
How about a flexible/foldable touch display that goes in your pocket while always connected to the cloud?
Or a wrist based device with holographic display always connected to the cloud and totally voice/gesture driven?

We're in the stone ages
