Since when is the K800i a Symbian phone, maybe a mod can move this to the right place...

It's not symbian phone. Maybe the guy who posted this thread made a misstake. I'm sure this will be moved by the mods to some other place soon.

I would like to make Opera Mini my default browser on my P1i which I've had for about 2 months on O2 in UK.

I am really delighted with the phone, apart from when I dropped it yesterday, running for the train. Then sat on the train, went to use the phone and realised my stylus had popped out during the drop. Good job it shipped with a spare.

Anyway, any ideas how Opera Mini can be made the default browser on a P1?

Also, any idea why, when I log into websites, such as Facebook or Blogger, it always seems to think I'm in Norway? I get Scandinavian adverts and invitations to work as translator to Norwegian! I've looked for location settings but no joy. My native browser knows where I am - it's just dreadful at displaying websites properly.

I believe P1 is UIQ3 and it does come with a version of Opera (8.65). But it does not work like Opera Mini. It is very clunky and un-intuitive. It also forever prompts for this-that-and-the-other, except "remember my settings!". It also often fails to log me into websites for no apparent reason.

I love Opera Mini (I'm using v4.1.11355), it just works. Logs me into sites when I ask it, allows me to select mobile or regular views at stroke. It would be nice if, when I clicked links in my email, it would open the right browser.

It's not critical, but would make a great phone perfect (nearly)

Thanks

can't be done on K800. ie: you can't set for example if you open a link in a message you can't make K800 open the link with Opera.

You can however mod your menu, so that when you select internet services it opens Opera Mini.
