i've searched the forum for an answer an didnt find any thing ... can any one help i would like to know how my p1i and other touchscreens devices work??? i've read that the iphone uses the capasitive touchscreens... and i think its the best kind of touchscreen for smart phones cause it supports multi-touch and it shows a good resistance of outside elements and its so clear.

why SE didn't use this kind of screens in their P-series to enhance the functionality of UIQ3 ??!?!?!?!

if you answered they use cheapper touchscreens then why ??? why they didnt give us the best and make us happy even if we have to pay more... its if you pay more you get more and i think we will be happier if we pay more and get an ultimate device !!

P1 uses the same type touchscreen like P990 M600 W950... The one that has 2 layers (the upper one elastic). Don't know about you, but the screen is OK. Nothing wrong with it. iPhone is using another touchscreen which is too much sensitive so accidental taps are more often.
Sony Ericsson software/hardware support!

all UIQ phones, including P1 use a resistive touchscreen. Read here:

The iPhones choice of touch screen is the very reason you cannot have Hand Writing recognition software on the iPhone!

It is not suited to stylus input! and having tried an iPhone I wouldn't recommend one to anyone who really uses the input functions of the Pseries you would be very disappointed, but it IS a very pretty looking little toy.
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot.
