Does anyone have any knowledge on timeshares, only my dad is trying to sell his.
He has had a company ring him (TCM Leisure, Zurich) offering to buy them from him, but he needs to pay 400 euros up front via his credit card.
Does this sound fishy to you, or is this how it works.
Cant seem to find any info on this company on the web either.
Paul

Read this from a timeshare scam forum:-
Hi all
Just a warning about a company purporting to be a Swiss based re-sale organisation. http://www.tcmleisure.com
As you can see from the website its the typical "Spanish" scam - a website that tells you absolutely nothing (my daughter could have done a more convincing job).
I was contacted by this firm today (my father was scammed over 10 years ago into buying points) saying they had an offer but needed a committment fee - £900 sterling.
Usual garbage about they need it but "you're protect by using VISA / MASTERCARD etc".
Needless to say its a scam - I did offer to place the commitment fee with an independent UK solicitor but funny enough they didn't want to play.
I have changed tack with other companies that call me. I tell them I've actually sold the point last week for £8000 and the money was cleared in my account just yesterday. I'm usually asked who sold it so I say ILG Leisure!!!! (as if).
They have a choice then of saying it can't be true - more usually they say "and the money is in the bank" to which I reply - "yes - I transferred it to my high-interest account yesterday".
It works for me - it's cut down the number of calls my father receives enormously.
Anyhow- watch out for TCM Leisure - maybe new a member of "Scammers United"

Another reply:-
They have been mentioned on the forum - but they now seem to justify their own thread. Reckon to be Swiss-based but much more likely to be in Spain.
They are also BPM Worldwide http://www.bpmworldwide.com and this one says that it is in Andorra. Ditto BPM Estates http://www.bpmestates.com Same thing - give us money in advance and we will run off with it.

Click on the three links and apart from the pictures and the addresses, the site layout is identical - word for word!!
Scam, scam, scam.....
Tell your Dad to keep his money in his pocket.
