Hey peepz,
My Sony Ericsson w880i doens't turn on.
Everything worked perfectly but then when I woke up it just did not start up.
When I try to charge it the screen stays black. Sometimes a tiny red light starts to glow near the 'c' button. Another symptom is that my phone gets hot sometimes when I try to charge..
I tried another battery of the same type but that did not work either.
so it is the phone which got some propz but I dont know how to solve it.
Can somebody help me, I am quite desperate!
Greetings,
Tushar |

You can try reflash your EROM with XS++. Flash it as MAIN firmware file and your phone should be fine.
Or folow one of these tutorials:

Thanks for the reply but with the first step @ XS++ its just failing to connect.
When I charge with my plug-charger (not my DCU-60 cable) it gives a red led but with the DCU-60 cable it doesnt give any light or whatever.
What can I do, because its a pity I can't even start the tutorial!
Thanks in advance |

Are you holding the "C" button on the phone down while connection the cable to it?

I had the same problem as you. To turn it back on, try to take the battery out for 3-5 min, then put the battery back in and try to turn it on again. Don't put the back cover on as the click may shake the phone and it may not turn on. Anyhow, save whatever you need because that phone will hang a zillion time a day... that is if you can manage to turn it back on so it can hang again! Oh one more thing, you may want to take the battery out, then press the c button so it drains all the remaining power out before inserting your battery back in. Good luck. |

It is the 2 button on the keypad instead of C for W880i.

I tried with the battery taking out and put it back in then hold the 'c' button and plugged the dcu 60 cable in my SE w880i, that did not work, still no connection on the screen. I tried it with the '2' button but it didnt work either.
Are there other options to fix this, thanks for helping people! |

It's an erom you need to upload to your phone. KulanKendi can fix your erom. Btw, it's the 2 and 5 keys you need to press.

In fact you say that if it doesn't work holding my phonebuttons with the 2+5 button/2-button/'c'-button with my dcu 60 cable while trying to connect with XS++
Then my mobile is doomed to fail? |

You have to check your USBFlash drivers for this.

Or maybe the phone is completely dead if it is not recognized at all... Only solution for that would be using service cable for it or taking it to the nearest service center to get fixed.
