Can any of you SYNC your contacts on P1 or any other P8XX and P9XX series with Outlook

I can sync with Outlook, however I loose all the second or third Mobile phone numbers of each contact when syncing to outlook. By default Outlook only allows 1 Mobile Phone number per person.

Is there a way to overcome this ? Or maybe a work around ? Or any 3rd party software you can recommend ?

The reason I'm asking is that I have about 1100 contacts which I would like to tranfer to a WM6.1 HTC phone, and only the first mobile phone numbers gets transferred by the Outlook ........

Last time I checked there wasn't a solution . We had to live with that.

So I'm asking again to be sure ......

BTW I'am back to Forums after such a long time and I would expect an answer from an old friend like you like "Welcome back" or similar

Since you know the subject already, Why don't you enlighten me ?? old friend..

This contacts issue seems to be one of the few areas where Symbian is actually better than WM. P1 has the ability to have more than one mobile number for a contact but this information is lost if you sync with Outlook or send your contact info to a WM device.
I haven't found a solution yet but there is a program called Inesoft address book that simulates this. It stores the other mobile numbers in the notes field and treats them as mobile numbers. However, this is not a pretty solution. I also don't like splitting a contact into multiple entries.
I have a feeling that the solution is going to be one which does not involve Pocket Outlook, meaning a custom program with its own backup system.
I just tested http://syncml.mobiledit.com/ , I had used it before to transfer data between Nokia and SE. It does allow more than 1 mobile number per record. Will have to tweak some settings before I can do a field test though.

This is incredible. I first encountered this problem ages ago with PC Suite and Outlook, so I can only use P1i's Contact Manager for making backup's of contacts. I've also kept my old P800 for the same purpose, sort of an external backup hard drive, but that is for storing contact information only. I thought the problem had been satisfactorily resolved by a 3rd party service or software some years ago. Now, it is looking like a perpetual problem. I am inclined to wonder if, compared with the other smartphones, SE's capability for storing multiple phone numbers per contact is an advantage or a curse.

What if we save the 2nd or 3rd mobile number as mobile W(ork) or Home .
The numbers are shown separately in MS outlook.
Do you mean storing 2 numbers under Mobile work and outlook not recognising it

Does using Mobilephoneexplorer for a backup solve the issue...

MyPhoneExplorer does store multiple mobile numbers but it can only be used as backup, still no way to transfer to Outlook/WM.

This problem has been about since the P800. I raised the issue also and if it was possible to edit the mapping of fields into custom fields in Outlook. The problem isn't so much with the phone but with the failing of MS to allow more than one Mobile defined number. I'm quite fussy about how my data is stored so even for contacts who only have the one mobile number, I do define if it's their home or work mobile, so these do get lost when you sync with Outlook.

I'm not sure what the latest version of Outlook/Office does. It maybe that it works but have not tested it or seen it myself. It would however be good if we were able to map the fileds on the phone to custom fields on Outlook.

Forget it guys

There is no way you can add two mobile phones on Outlook even with the latest version.

I guess guys at Microsoft think and believe that every should have only one mobile phone number.......

Anyway the only way to sync my P1i contacts into Outllok was to do a re-mapping on the double or triple mobile number entries by hand.

For example I mapped Mobile 2 into Car Phone etc.
So when I need to text somebody's 2nd phone, Instead of viewing the contacts , I go into that person's details and highlight the 2nd number and then choose SMS from the options.

That method works !!!

Otherwise you must create a secind or Third entry for each contact who has 2-3 mobile phone numbers
