O2 staff: prepay iPhone sales are being hit by high price
Sales of the prepay 3G iPhone have got off to a sluggish start, leading to criticisms from some store staff that the price has been set too high.
It comes after the iPhone was made available on prepay for the first time last Tuesday (16 September). The device starts at £350 for the 8GB version and £400 for 16GB.
Staff at Carphone and O2 stores said that early uptake has been slow, with some stores claiming they hadn’t sold their first 3G iPhone one week after the device was made available.

Nothing surprising there as it is over priced for its features and what it can and cant do. Or perhaps alot of people have not even realised its out on pre pay. Or people are hard up right now. |

Exactly! Hope they drop the price before Xmas cos I want one with the data tariff. Only if o2 staff did this kinda thing more often. |

i would think that sales of the prepay iphone will pick up nearer to xmas when the youngsters will want one and the only way they will get it wil be on prepay. |

Yeah, kids are more than happy to come crowd round our iPhone demo table like flys to sh*t, but they never want to buy one do they? :/
I think we sold a few, but we're not selling that many now, prolly as many iPhone as we do any other phone really. Thing is, they keep sending them to us! We've literally got over a hundred or more and they just keep turning up! But their not sending us phones we DO need, like the C902 :/

Not solid gold, but given you get a years free unlimited internet with it worth £120, even without that it's still cheaper than an N95 8GB etc.
Generally it's about the right price, people just don't appreciate what it's actually worth.
It's a high end contract phone being sold on pay as you go, what do you expect?

Read that as 'stupid' and/or 'ignorant' parents

Haha, I can imagine staff at a mobile phone store waiting til the customer is just out the door then laughing and giving each other high-fives. I mean, they just sold an iPhone!
