SE K500i Discontinued? |

Am thinking of buying the K500i which is available from a few distributers. The problem is that I cant find it listed on the SE site in the list of products currently available. Does anyone know if they have ceased to manufacture this phone? |

Do you really mean the K500i, it's not a typo ?
K500i came on the market in 2004, so it's not strange that it's not produced anymore.

Whats a typo? I am not saying that it is discontinued, but asking if it is. The phone is still being sold through for example, car phone warehouse. Dont really want to buy an old model!

Have a look at K320i, it's a nice and cheap little phone, complete for it's price and from last year.

Thanks, but I really want to know the answer to my question. Do SE still make the K500i? (And, what's a typo?)

A typo is a typing error or mistake .
And of course SE don't produce the K500i anymore, it's four years old !
That's why I suggested the K320i, it's newer, cheaper, but with better specs (Bluetooth!).

Oh, they'll tell you typo is a typing error too
The K500i was stopped long ago.

Wonder how it's possible that CPW are still selling them .
Maybe refurbs, or a clearout ?

my cousin still uses this phone. doesn't wanna change it coz it still works. it looks a bit battered though. anyway she's only into calls & sms, unlike most of us here.

The K500i wasn't all that great back when it was new, so I definitely wouldn't recommend it now. SE probably haven't been making the phone for a good 3 years now I'd say. Usually product life cycles are about a year.

Thanks for the help and advice guys. Have been on to Sony Ericsson and they confirmed that the phone was no longer available but that CPW would probably have some left in stock.
I wonder if the sales staff at CPW tell prospective customers that this phone is out of production?

This phone would be something you could dig up on the website; old stock they'll just stick a price on. It wouldn't be in the shop, it's way way to old and outdated.
Mind you, given the quality of CPW staff in some shops, they probably wouldn't even know if it's new or old!
