Hello everybody,

I need some help with an international bank transfer.

I need to send some some money via international bank transfer for a purchase i am making. I have spoken to my bank here in the UK (LloydsTSB) and they have informed me that i will have to pay a £20 fee for them to make the international payment for me as it isn't part of their internet banking service.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper way of doing this as i'm not transfering much more than £20 anyways!!!! I know paypal would cost alot less but the seller doesn't accept paypal...

Does anyone know an alternative?

Cheers

jsut a thought, can you make a postal oder at your local post box?

not sure, but could be worth finding out if that works?

failing that, if HSBC is free to do this (which im certain it is - but find out) you can transfer the money to me and i'll pay it for you) x

yeah, Lloyds are a rip off... and you can't set the transfer up online... and they get it wrong, or lose the transaction frequently

I've been doing a bit of research to reduce my costs as I send money back to oz each month and XE trade gets alot of good reviews. You can even do a live demonstration using live currency rates to get a feel for the charges which, for me, and around half what lloyds charges

worth checking out anyway...

Hmmm that XE Trade does seem good if you do it alot but this is probably just a one off for me.... The fact that you have to print and sign a form and then send it to them is going to the delay the initial process a bit much...
