Metallica are awesome! really liking the new album, its certainly better than the poor st anger!

Saw them live in 06, it was the 20th anniversary of Master Of Puppets, and they played the album in its entirety!

there was a metallica night on radio1 last night, didnt catch all of it though.

my favourite albums have to be ride the lightning and master of puppets, not heard the new one much yet so shall reserve judgement

Forgot to say, also have a big fondness for the song "One", not only because it is a piece of absolute quality, but back in school I was stuck for ideas on a story to write as part of my english gcse coursework, so in the end I decided to write about a man who was in the war and lost his arms and legs, was blind and just wanted to die, thanks to the video for one i got an A for that piece of coursework

I used to be quite a big Metallica fan.

For me, Metallica went kinda downhill after the iconic 'black' album.
It's still one of my all-time fave metal albums, that and '...And Justice For All'.

Yeah, 'One' indeed. And I'll never forget that live video of them playing 'Harvester Of Sorrow' in Moscow in '91's free concert. 500 000 fans and a somewhat brutal police force trying to maintain some form of 'control' :

St Anger was such a low point for me. I haven't even bothered to listen to more than 2 of the new album's tracks at this point. I'll do so in the near future, but after all the let-downs (for me anyway) since the aforementioned 'black' album, I'm in no huge rush...
