Yes i know what you mean, Tegic (i think) hold the licence for their t9 invention so i don`t think you will see it imerge as a free software, i would imagine the phone makers are very keen to get out of it & the lack of it on the p8 mght be financial.

It's not a problem, since U can write with the handwriting recognition. It's pretty fast, and better experience for me. But perhaps you'll stick to T9...

As as the keypad is ugly, you'll have it removed => Flip Open mode, so no T9 (except with the virtual keyboard) !!

But you can write normal style, right? I mean, pressing 2 twice for b and so on? or only with handwriting or virtual keyboard?

Xbone! Yes, you have actually 3 ways to write. Pressing the keyboard(multitap), handwriting recognition and the virtual keyboard. BUT the phone has open options to choose other text-input programmes, so it's ready for 3.rd party apps. In the mode where you choose primary text-input, there is an open field to choose from that says "none" as default.

There is a new input method but I don't remember its name. You press 426 or 729 for A, like the letters shape. I'll write the web address when I find it.
