Bought an unlocked Blackberry Bold from Rogers, Canada. I am in Switzerland on Swisscom. Everything works perfectly (BB Messenger), SMS and Email. HOWEVER, when I access the browser options, I only have one option which is "hotspot", meaning I can only browse the internet through wifi...
I have resent myself Swisscom service books numerous times, but that never changes anything. I dont know whether I should wait for Swisscom to update their service books to include the Bold, or whether they already have...I have spoken to the Swisscom tech people but they dont seem to be able to do anything. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi laetitya

I am far from being a BB expert as the Bold is my first device but if you go into BB menu and choose Options then Advanced Options and Browser.

The first option is Default Browser configuration if you highlight the browser it shows i get my 3 options
Orange World
Internet Browser
Hotspot browser

For that one i choose Internet Browser and that's the only one that i can change the others don't appear changeable.

Default MDS Browser configuration says Internet Browser

Default Wap browser says Orange World which is my Wap browser

I don't know if that helps or not but it is the only place i can remember choosing a Browser.

Thank you for that, but that is exactly my problem: apart from Hotspot, I dont have any other browser options wherever I go to look!

Hi laetitya

The only other thing i can suggest is go to the Blackberry owners thread and go and download a newer firmware. Also you can go to crackberry.com or BlackBerryForums.com and follow the upgrade instructions it really is very easy as I've done it twice already.

you need to request the browser service book again. Do it from BIS.

By BIS, you mean the webpage one goes to to get the service books in the first place right? Well, on the Swisscom Blackberry page, there are not that many options, and no option to send the browser.
