I have never owned a Windows Mobile phone and was wondering what the difference in performance was between this platform and UIQ 3.

I currently have the P1i and don't know if I should upgrade to X1 when it is available, the G900, or wait for the next incarnation of the P1i...I know the P5i thread got locked but that still leaves me clueless as to whether or not the X1 is the new way forward or if there will be a true P1i successor.

Sorry thats two questions I guess.

Thanks JD

You should wait for the P1 successor. Xperia is the first WM phone from and as they don't have any experience with WM serious bugs may appear.

Well it surely has more applications imo... But those platforms are different you know. Each other offers different advantages/disadvantages so it is a mater of taste and needs which one you go for.

personally I prefer WM over UIQ because there is so much good freeware for WM, and also because it is much easier to customise and hack WM. (registry editor anyone?)
