hi all,
since i'm out mobile retail i don't come over here a lot anymore.
but there is an issue i could use your knowledge with.
i have a collegue who owns a p990 and likes to backup it's content.
no problem with the SE suite. however... he likes to move the contacts toward a differend brand phone (i tried to talk 'm out ...)
you could backup/sync it with the default windows adressbook BUT it's beeing used with outlook contacts.
and we don't like to mix these together.
how... what... do we do to transfer/backup it's contact toward a different brand phone? since the backup couldn't be opend/viewed i cannot transfer any.
thanks in advance

The only one I know doing this good is exactly Outlook...no other program esp. when you wanna switch brands.

The simple answer is to create a new user account on your pc, and then sync to Outlook within that. Outlook will create a new empty contacts lst for the new user, thus keeping all your buisiness contacts separate. You can then delete the new user when you've resynced to the new phone.
Creating a new account is easy via the user accounts wizard in your pc's control panel. The only thing is that you have to be logged in as an administrator to do it. |

Glad to help I only thought of it myself as my partner and I have separate user profiles/synced contact lists on our home pc - luckily we both have SE phones, so only need one cradle.
One thing I will mention though is that the pcsuite sometimes gets confused by running in two accounts simutaineously, so make sure that the main account is logged off when switching to the new one. I also don't have the pcsuite loading at startup, as this can also create conflicts - I launch it from a shortcut when required. Mrouter is still loaded globaly, but as I say if you only have one user logged on at a time this is no problem. |

The simpler thing to do is create a diffrent folder in outlook under the contacts and change the syn prefernce ( use advance settings in SE suite).
e.g. I have SE p990 and G502 so I have two folder in my Outlook 990 and 502 where the contacts sync. Whenever I want to transfer contacts I simply copy paste them into the required folder
