Replacement handset arriving tomorrow - need answers quick! |

Hi all
I am getting a replacement n95 8gb tomorrow as my current one has developed a fault.
Everything is backed up using the nokia pc suite. However. I recall that some of the programs I have purchased required the input of the phone's ime number (uniuque to the particular handset).
Question = When I restore everthying to the new handset, will these programs work or will they be rejected as there will be a new ime number?
If they are rejected, do I really have to contact each programme manufacturer to explain the situation and obtain a new password? Surely, this must happen all the time?
Cheers
Wuz

If the programs where IMEI locked, then yes you will have to contact each program provider for a new product key-i would take a note of your old IMEI in case they ask for it along with keeping proof of exchange (you'll also need this for warranty purposes). Hope this helps, Me :o)

Thanks - much apprecated.
-Going forwards, as more people start to buy added applcations for their phones, you would have thought that this way of doing things can't continue. Changng phones, but retaining the software you purchased, should not be this difficult. |
