agree with voda. but still, as muslims we are brothers..and we cant start arguing amongst ourselves over silly politics!
similarly, whatever happens in the Irani govt is POLITICS, not religion. If Islam is dragged in, as is usually done in Pakistan, its just a cover for their actions.
Miga out. Peace

Asalam o alaikum warah matullah wabarakatuhu
Couple of videos I felt like sharing with you ppl here
1) The first video shows the limitless powers of Allah. There are many destructive forces in this world. But none of them would harm us without the will of Allah. This short clip proves that point.

2) This one shows some of the most beautiful mosques in the world

3) Just found another clip of Quran recitation by an 11 year old kid . His name is Hassan bin Abdullah. MashAllah he has such a beautiful voice. Strikes direct at your heart.

There are 5 basic practices known as 5 Pillars:
1. Declaration of faith (SHAHADAH) by verbally pronouncing the words: `I bear witness that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), was His prophet and messenger'.
2. The mandatory five daily prayers, called Namaz/Salah. Adult Muslims are expected to pray five times each day, before sunrise, at noon, midway between noon and sunset, at sunset and at night. These prayers are obligatory and therefore can be offered anywhere. They are also offered in congregations in all the mosques at set times. Muslims face KAABAH (a cubical building in Makkah built by Prophet Abraham). To ensure the correct direction, Qibla direction finders are available. It is important to offer the facilities for prayer as they may feel that it is too much trouble and not ask. Friday afternoon prayer is the weekly congregational prayer.
3. Fasting during Ramadhan (one month of abstaining from food and drink from just before dawn to sunset). Ramadan occurs 11 days earlier each year, and is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. Seriously ill, pregnant or breast-feeding mothers, menstruating women, people on a journey and elderly people in poor health are exempt from fasting.
4. The giving of alms (ZAKAT).
5. Pilgrimage to Mecca once in life (HAJJ).

After the Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet (PBUH), these lectures have helped me a lot to learn about Islam and to act upon it properly, Alhamdolillah
Please do listen to them, im sure it will be worthwhile

With regards to politics, you cannot avoid it in Islam. Shariah is the answer but there is no place in the World that uses it so it is irrelevent talking about Iran only.
Muslims need to learn the benefits of Shariah over other systems i.e. legal, social and financial. Then, the Muslims in their OWN LANDS should demand this peacefully.
When the prophet Isa (aws) returns to Earth, he and the Muslims will live under the Shariah for many years. The logic of Shariah cannot be argued against and it is the duty of a Muslim to educate themselves about every aspect of Islam. |

although there are some parts of the world where some aspects of sharia are still implemented (like in saudia, cutting the hands of a theif) but i totally agree with badman tht politics has dominated sharia these days. that is why there is so much unrest in the world these days.
