Well today i got my 3rd G900 (in 3 days i've changed 3). First one had faulty LED. On the second, i noticed a small vibration on the screen, like a very short flickering from time to time. So i've changed it. After i got my 3rd, and got home, i noticed it again. So it's my 3rd G900, all 3 with fickering problems. Can you please check your too (apply a darker theme first, use handset for 4 minutes or +, yhen go to standby... and press the return/back button every 1-2 second, and see if there is a flickering, extra intensity in light on the calls/menu/more bar). I'm going insane... this problem irritates me like hell.
Plz try it and reply.. you have to keep the handset still, and look at it straight. |

Man are you getting branded phones or what... I have tried some G900s myself and none of them had any hardware bug...

Perhaps the shop you are going to has a bad batch of G900s. I would try returning it for a refund and going somewhere else to buy one, because it sounds like the supplier you're using only has faulty ones. Also, you should check manufacture dates on the phones to make sure you are getting a more recent one.

Well that keeps the point too. Anyway this happened in one of our shops with Alcatel S853... I have 2 friends that bought the phones the same day. And both were faulty. Later third friend bought it and it was faulty too... Maybe it is the same case with your G900 - the shop you bought it from. You can try asking the money back, if possible, and buy a new one from different shop. It should be OK.

Well i want to buy it from another shop, but my dad said this one is good enough... you can't go back day by day and try out all G900. It's hardly visible, but for the trained eye (i know where to look and how + when) it's there. Even the guy from the shop didnt see them, i had to show him too. If i ask for my money back, i don't know what to buy. I will keep this one, then sell it to my cousin or my girlfriend after 6 months and buy something new. Well it's not from the same shop... i mean same company, but not same shop, so i doubt it. My dad also had problems with his new sim free K850i, and he got it from another shop, another company. Thats the fact... all new sony ericsson phones are faulty. You have to admit. SE hit the market with a perfect phone, the K750i, and since then they only copy paste. Smartphones use the same 208mhz processor over and over again. They where nr3 on market, now dropping to nr4, then slowly5. I'm really pissed off, thats why my next phone won't be a SE. neighter nokia (i hate the UI of nokia). Aiming at LG or Samsung. So i decided to keep this G900, as there is a possibility that ALL G900 are like this. Anyway this is the best SE has to offer for now.. Thanks for helping me out
If this problem will get worse, then i will ask for my money back. Till then, i will keep it and use it
P.S. wher do i check for manufacturer date? Also post me some dates from you G900 (those who don't have this problem).

ok found mine... : 08W21 (first one i've had with bad LED was W22)
edit: as i remember, this may not be a hardware bug, but rather a driver bug. I remember the time i changed display driver on my k750i, with a high contrast one, and that caused some lines on the display. Maybe this is the same...

I don't know about your K750, but it may be software issue. That keeps the point. Try updating the phone's firmware if not... It may help you if you get the latest one...

I have the latest fw... The only thing that bothers me (besides the flicker... <- i start to ignore that) is the bad camera driver. pictures are too yellow, and white balance is very bad. focus is also faulty, not to mention touch focus... Man i can't wait till someone makes a custom driver. Anyway.. you guys found the file responsible for the camera yet? i wanna look at it. |
