Is there a easy way to backup original acoustics, camera, display drivers of the phone.

I read a long guide using Far Manager.

I really want to try Peter's Hifi Acoustics , but want to keep the originals if I don't like these.

Can it be done easily with any other software ??

I have a K810 CID52.

Thanks !!

Use Jd Flasher or XS++ to open up the phone's filesystem. JdFlasher can backup files from phone while SEFP plugin cannot...

Or use XS++ to "download" files from phone.

I don't have XS++ guide here. In fact I have one for flashing but it is different. You should search www.se-nse.com for usage guide for XS++. There are also good guide for XS++ FSX operations - which is the EXACT thing you are looking for.

Ya I found guides for uploading drivers into the phone using XS++ FSX , but not backing up acoustics etc. from phone to pc.

Are these the only guide to do backups (both of them use Far Manager and not Jd Flasher or XS++) :-

http://www.akshayy.com/sonyericsson/tutorials/creating-backup-of-phones-fs-contents/

http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=17170

Or is there any other way ?

Thanks !!

In XS++ there is one "Download" button. Select the files you need (or the file) and hit that button. it should download the files from your phone to your PC. Or try selecting them and dragging the on your desktop or in some folder (drag&drop).

If not you can use jdflasher to open up the phone's filesystem and go to "ifs/setiings/acoustic" where the sound drivers are located and copy all files there to your PC...

I tried it with XS++ , but when I select the file in FSX the download button doesn't highlight , only upload and delete buttons can be clicked.

Also I tried to drag the file on to the desktop , that didn't work either.

Haven't tried JD Flasher yet.

How did u backup ur original files ?

Thanks,

Joy

I was using K800 previously. I didn't back them up. Actually most important files I took them out using jdflasher, but most of the original files I used to have in extracted firmware from K800/810...

Here are the original K810 acoustics if you want them:

Most of the guide for backing up files from phone require EROM DB2020.

But I just checked today and my EROM is R3A022.

Can I use JD Flasher to extract the complete FS (containing ifs , tpa etc. folders) ?

I don't want to screw up my new phone with false modding.

@strizlow800 , thanks for your time I really appreciate your replies.

No, EROM is not 2020... DB2020 is called the platform of the phone and your K800 is DB2020 INDEED. And the EROM has nothing to do with files in the Filesystem...

Tell me which firmware you need extracted I'll get it done for you. or use the Main2raw and sefstool4 to extract the firmware. You can find tutorial for it around www.se-nse.com

@ strizlow800

Thanks a lot for all your help. You're the only one who tried to help me.

I finally was able to backup my original files (acoustics, camera, display and menu) from my phone.

I followed this guide by Number 1,

http://www.topsony.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5359

After a lot of tries I got it in the end.Now I can happily mod my phone.

Also are there any other files that need to be backed up for safety ?

Cheers Mate !!

Look for GDFS backup tutorial. GDFS is the only thing that cannot be replaced with other copy. You need the original. In fact it can be repaired, but it is the best to have a backup of it. It can be done with XS++ or SeTool... many tools for such backup. Make one, and keep it safe.

Thanks , but I had already backed up my GDFS earlier with the help of Akshay's guide with XS++.

Backing up GDFS is a lot more easier then backing FS files.

Yeah I know. GDFS backup procedure is a piece of cake... Once you have a backup of it, go on modding. You have nothing to worry about now.
