Sony are to release by the end of this month the new T700 Cyber Shot digital Camera which is to be their slimmest ever. Measuring at 16.4mm it still manages a 4x optical zoom massive 3.5 inch widescreen with a resolution of 921,000 pixels. This is the highest of any digital camera yet. The Sony T700 also has 10 mega pixels smile shutter blink detection and face detection. For high image quality the Sony features the usual Carl Ziess lens with Bionz image processing for the highest image quality possible. The massive screen on the back not only features the highest resolution it is also a touch screen for ease of use. No buttons are on the back at all. Images look fantastic on the high resolution screen. The Sony T700 also features 4 giga byte of internal memory plus a memory card slot for further expansion. The Sony automatically saves every image you take on the internal memory at VGA quality whilst also saving it at full 10 mega pixels. See more at www.sony.co.uk Wow i think i want this camera it looks sexy and that screen is beautiful though it might lower battery life.

Sony is totally going the wrong way with their cyber shots. Their T series produce some of the worst images from a digi cam i've ever seen and surely making them smaller is only going to worsen them. The only plus about them is their screen, i actually fell for it with my T100

Yeah i guess it can be a bit OTT with the gimmicks and image quality suffers. People get attracted with the fancy features but its nothing if image quality is poor. I had a previous Sony N1 digital camera image quality was great but not the best i ever had. I would love to see the screen but my next digi cam will probably be Panasonic TZ5.

Yeah see I have a Sony T2 which is fine for my usage and the quality is at least good, but I can see its not as good as many other brands and even some Sony ones. See I'd love the the screen from the T700, but I'd rather it be thicker with better quality images.

Not only Sony. Most digicam vendors have joined the megapixel race. I think we will soon see digicams and camphones converge in quality - not because of camphones improving but because of digicams degrading to be just as bad as camphones.

Yes there are 13 and 14 mega pixels coming out soon from Samsung Sony and Panasonic. Around 8 mega pixels is enough for most people. I want the Panasonic TZ5 cos it has massive wide angle 10x optical zoom Lieca lens. Panasonic have also been voted most reliable in camera manufacturing by consumers. Also the TZ5 has a screen sharp enough at 460,000 pixels and 3 inches.
