Can't adjust MPS-70 volume ! |

Hi
I just purchased MPS-70 external speakers for my new V640i vodafone, but they play always at max volume ! Shocked
Side volume buttons don't works, even if I see the volume bar shrink and expand regularly. Huh
On settings/connectivity menu no accessories appears connected too. Cry
Any ideas ? Someone else experienced such trouble ?

It may be the phone compatibility with them... Try using them with another phone to see if that can controll them. Your phone is vodafone branded one. There might be problems with the firmware too. I'm not 100% sure but the best option is to try with another phone.

I agree, but unfortunately the only other different SE phone at hand (the W300i of my son) was lost just some day ago 
Just tried now on an other V640i and there is same defect
By the way the pins at connector seems to be as follow:
1,2, 5,6, 8,9, 12

No , do not try with V640s... Try with different model. Especially W series one if you can.

You will find that it's not your speakers.it's just another of many problems with the A200 platform Sony Ericsson phones.If you try an older model eg. T650.K800,K810 you will find the speakers work fine and you can adjust the volume. |

Yeah.It's why I've sold all my A200 phones.It's not practical when bluetooth cuts out every 3-5 minutes while on a call using a Sony Ericsson bluetooth headset.Have gone back to using my T650 and Symbian phones. |

I haven't had hands on experience for a longer time with the T650, but the smartphones from  . They are great all rounders imho.

Solved at 50% :
Using an ohmmeter (say tester) I found pin 8 and 9 at connector are not interconnected .
Such way phone doesn't recognize an external hands-free like device.
I tried to wrap a subtle copper wire between them before insert the plug on the phone and voilą speakers work seamless
Such work around is not feasible for normal use, wire doesn't allow the plug stay all way in, and since the pins are rectactable into the connector I can't solder them together . So now the question is: send back the speakers to the seller at hong-kong spending extra bucks or try a DIY repair (but HOW ?) ?
Any (genial) ideas ?
By the way I tried to update the firmware, but found I already have the newest firmware (by vodafone )

"Genial" idea, try soldiering the pins you need connected all the time. At yOUR OwN RiSk.
