Some of my pictures have a milky cast. This occurs in a variety of light conditions and whether using a flash or not. I noted a similar post some time ago (http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=124845) and wonder if this is the same issue.
It is sometimes like looking through a piece of not quite clear plastic and others times has a smudged effect (as in the example picture below). In the latter case it is similar to what you may get by smudging a camera lens with vaseline for effect. I have naturally wondered if it is merely finger grease smudge on the lens and I try to remember to wipe it before taking pics, but I'm not convinced as it still seems to happen. Some pictures are perfect and rich in colour without any particular effort in lens cleaning.
Is this a common problem? Is it just dirty lens? Have I got a camera that was manufactured on a Friday afternoon?!
Any ideas?
