G900 d-pad shortcuts and button assignment |

Does anyone know of a way to assign shortcuts to directional presses on the dpad? I'm guessing this isn't possible due to the standby application, but I've turned that off and its driving me mad not being able to press left for new message, right for calc etc.
Also, can't find anything about changing button assignments. Notes isn't something I use much but it has a dedicated button!

As far as I know, Its not possible...but for your 'new message' problem, there IS a dedicated button for messaging. Unless you meant something else?
If anyone finds and answer to this, Id like to know myself. Best I can tell you is to look to the shortcuts. But then that means changing your standby setting, which I assume youd rather not change

you could download an app called LongCuts with which you can assign shortcuts.

I'd love to change that notes button to something more frequently used too! unless notes is something that can be posted in standby (like i mentioned in another thread)
for assigning shortcuts, there's 10 assignable buttons on the screen. even when u "collapse the menu, u have FOUR replaceable shortcuts! why don't u use that? my new message, bluetooth, calendar, contacts are all on the first row. |

True, you can use these 10 buttons on 'screen'. But, the physical buttons are at times preferred than using screen. Example - If you are on-the-go (on a train / bus / walking) then it's easier to use the D-pad shortcuts than to screen. |
