Did you charge the battery fully the first time?
I would take the phone back and ask for a new battery. If there is something with a product the maufacturer needs to know. There might be more phones with the same problem.

Yeah i have kind-of the same problem, my battery lies to me (no joke intended), it has almost full bar of battery or say 5 hours of talk time then after i make a small call or listen to my Mp3 for a bit, the battery goes all the way down; "attention, battery LOW!" what??? it just was full. Though this isn't like the persons above problem, mine would work for a few hours, just the stand by time and the battery indicator lie to me. Doesnt matter much though, as i have a spare T68 ( in White) battery which i carry in my wallet. Is it a phone problem or is it the battery problem? I put my battery in a mates phone, though the battery bar was lower it was accurate, also when i put his battery in my phone, my phone said it had more stand-by time then his, confusing.... [addsig]

How old is the batttery. I had the same problem with my 7110. Everytime you recharge a battery it holds its life for just a little bit shorter than the time before. Most manufactures recommend replacing the battery once a year!

the battery life doesn't actually tell you how long it can run, it's just an approx. of how loong it can go on standby mode whitout you fiddling with it. remember, the lcd screen when used eats a lot of battery time. so after charging, when you see it's 245 hrs. left, that's how long it will stay on if you don't use it at all

Make sure you phone's screen is set to automatic so it dims out after a short period of inactivity, and also turn off bluetooth when you don't need it as it can drain a lot of charge all by itself
