I'm looking around for a cottage somewhere in Europe. Somewhere cosy near some woods or a lake where I could rent it for a weekend away with a gf ect......

This forum is full of people from all over so im hoping someone could suggest something reasonably priced. I was thinking maybe somewhere in France or somewhere but all ideas are welcome thanks.

Thanks

how about Herm Island? i live on the island right beside it - Guernsey,in the Channel Islands. and its a really beautiful place, especially if the weathers good. Very close to France too, so you could get Ferry to france in about 1h30mins for a day trip / few days.

Unfortunately, BobaFett isn't here atm, to promote his homeland, but Lake Balaton in Hungary is beautiful and very reasonably priced.

yeah its a great place to spend the day / few days relaxing.

no cars either which is a plus

its only 1 1/2 miles long.1/2 mile wide, so you can walk round it in an hour or so.
great views too.

My old dear has been there every year for the last 10, 10 minute drive from Banbury and about the same from Chipping Norton, the cottages are superb, all handmade wooden fittings by the owner (David) but as it says they own 70 acres, so you can walk all day long, they have a wee lake and a few animals walking about, it is the place you go to to do nothing though, it's not an adventure holiday, just a proper sit down, relax affair.

top top place!
