Hi there,
I am looking at getting a M2 memory card for my Z750i.
The spec says it is capable of up to 2Gbytes.
I am aware that often phones (& computers etc.) are actually capable of addressing more memory than is specified.
Has anyone out there tried a 4Gbyte or even an 8Gbyte card to see it will take it?
What results has anyone got on this?
Cheers.

Well you can only use M2 cards if that's what you mean. And as far as I know only Sony and Sandisk make them and both of those will work perfectly. If any other company does make them, I wouldn't trust them!

You will find no difference between a SanDisk card and a Sony card. Sony/SanDisk have a very close collaboration on the card spec and the host spec. The M2 is a very high quality and reliable design.

If you are looking for high capacity, SanDisk 8GB is easier to find. Sony has just released but is not readily available in the market. Look for 16GB SanDisk cards soon.

Both brands will work great with your z750. This phone is a good choice. I used one for a long time and it worked out great. My wife continues to punish hers ... no problems!

imo the reason it stated support up to 2gb m2 is because while they wrote the statement the biggest m2's in the market at that time is 2gb.
Hope you understand my english

Theoretically it should support to 32gb but there is no such card so no one tried that. Anyway, if your phone supports 4GB card it can support the 8gb for sure. So there is no reason to worry about cards lower than 4GB . As the 4GB and 8GB have the same filesystem - both are supported, and the lower capacity cards aswell.

Hey lads, you're being a great help. Lots of good stuff here.

One further concern I have, though, is the question as to whether these M2 micro cards are being cloned / faked.
Browsing the internet, I've read some reports about other card types (SD's etc) being faked. Some say these M2's are too complex to fake at present, wheras some say they are being faked.
Does anyone know the true situation re. M2s?
How do we know which suppliers are trustworthy?
I'm sure price can't be a reliable guide.
If M2 clones/fakes are out there, how do we tell them apart & how well or badly do they perform?
Cheers lads (&, of course, lassies).

There are M2 fakes aswell. I have tried one on a K810. It didn't save the pictures properly. I was getting CRAP!!! And also the songs were skipping from one to another randomly...

So look for genuine Sandisk M2 card. That would be my advice,
